O'Connor had lost six straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 12-12 to make it seven. They fell just short of the Xavier College Prep Gators by a score of 5-3. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Gators when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Sydnee Williams was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
As for Xavier College Prep, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.
On Xavier College Prep's side, Sydney Root made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Root was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
