Even though the North Davidson Black Knights scored an imposing 62 points on Saturday, the Pine Lake Prep Pride still came out on top. Pine Lake Prep walked away with a 74-62 victory over North Davidson. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pine Lake Prep.
Pine Lake Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Robert Magner out in front who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds. The contest was Magner's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Joseph Bruce was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
North Davidson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Coen Miller, who scored 16 points. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamauri Manuel, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
North Davidson struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Pine Lake Prep's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for North Davidson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
Pine Lake Prep and Lincoln Charter will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Lincoln Charter is ranked 144th, while Pine Lake Prep is ranked 145th). As for North Davidson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Forsyth Home Educators at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
