Softball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Twentynine Palms' Winning Streak

After a string of eight wins, Twentynine Palms's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They came up short against the Indio Rajahs, falling 18-2. The Wildcats were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the eight matches prior), but the Rajahs' pitchers proved too tough.

Twentynine Palms saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maya Beltz, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Beltz hit this season.

Twentynine Palms' loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-4. As for Indio, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.

While Twentynine Palms had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
