Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ripley). They never let the Shannon Red Raiders get on the board and left with an 18-0 win on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Brinson Gay made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Gay was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ripley let Emma Edwards and Allyson Christmas run wild. Edwards got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles, while Christmas scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Christmas a new career-high. Chatrea Wallace was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Ripley's win bumped their record up to 10-17. As for Shannon, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.
