There's no place like home for the Shaker Bison, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Troy 59-37. Given Shaker's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Troy is ranked 337th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shaker was led to victory by Lexi Carrington and Jayla Geter. Carrington scored 13 points along with four steals, while Geter scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Giada Lanni, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Shaker pushed their record up to 4-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Troy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Shaker will head out on the road to face off against Ballston Spa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ballston Spa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday. Troy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sidney at 3:45 p.m. on December 16th.
