The Kokomo Wildkats had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 46-36 win over Richmond. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Kokomo also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Among those leading the charge was Ma'Kaela Drake, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aijia Elliott, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Kokomo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Richmond, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.
Kokomo will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Tippecanoe Valley at 12:00 p.m. Hopefully Tippecanoe Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. As for Richmond, they will head out on the road to face off against Lafayette Jefferson at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lafayette Jefferson is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
