Landon Kemp posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Friday. He struck out five batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

Kemp's effort led Cherokee Bluff over West Hall and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears are 7-1 against the Spartans going back to March of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
