The St. Ignatius Wildcats entered their tilt with the Brunswick Blue Devils with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. St. Ignatius took down Brunswick 76-59 on Sunday. Given St. Ignatius' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while Brunswick is ranked 43rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Ignatius got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Damon Friery out in front who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Michael Lamirand was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
St. Ignatius is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Brunswick, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Ignatius will face off against Centerville at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Centerville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three contests. As for Brunswick, they will head out on the road to face off against Medina at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
