We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt The Classical Academy of Sarasota last Tuesday. Everything went Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy's way against The Classical Academy of Sarasota as Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy made off with an 11-2 win. The game marked the Eagles' most dominant victory of the season.
Christian Castanio and Leif Edoff made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Castanio tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Edoff didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out 12 over 4.2 innings pitched. Castanio has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Castanio scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Edoff went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. That double was Edoff's first of the season.
In other batting news, Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy got a massive performance out of Andrew Cordani, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Cordani hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler LaPlaca, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4.
Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Sarasota Military Academy was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell 4-1 to Babcock.
Sarasota Military Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Evans, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.
Sarasota Military Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
