Softball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

Mountain View was the 17-7 winner over Montrose when they last played one another back in May of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles lost 23-13 to the Meteors on Wednesday. On the bright side, the 13- run effort marked the Eagles' highest-scoring game to date.

Paige Smith and Emma Thatcher did some serious damage despite the final result: Smith scored four runs while going 3-for-3, while Thatcher scored a run while going 2-for-3. Emily Trichilo was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Montrose, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mountain View is set to take on their familiar foe Carbondale Area at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Montrose will face off against rival Elk Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
