Franklin Central enjoyed a cozy 65-51 victory over Greenfield-Central on Saturday. With that win, Franklin Central brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Franklin Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Payton Duvall, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Duvall has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Carys Wilson, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
When it comes to explaining why Greenfield-Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chaney Brown. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Silcox, who scored 11 points.
Franklin Central's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-7. As for Greenfield-Central, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5.
Franklin Central will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Plainfield at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Plainfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Wednesday. As for Greenfield-Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Muncie Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Muncie Central has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30.
