Hoover is 0-3 against Mount Miguel since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the Matadors at 4:00 p.m. Hoover has given up an average of 19.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Hoover managed to slip by Guajome Park Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cardinals lost 20-9 to the Frogs on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Lilly Robles led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Priscilla Lopez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, Mount Miguel came up short against Crawford on Wednesday, falling 26-10. The Matadors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mount Miguel got a massive performance out of Jasmine Bosley, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Bosley also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Laylah Castro, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Mount Miguel's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Hoover, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Mount Miguel's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hoover has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Mount Miguel, though, as they've been averaging 10.2 hits. Given Hoover's sizable advantage in that area, the Matadors will need to find a way to close that gap.
Hoover might still be hurting after the 16-6 defeat they got from Mount Miguel in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
