Vanguard Academy Beethoven hasn't had much luck against IDEA Quest College Prep recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Vanguard Academy Beethoven will venture away from home to challenge the IDEA Quest College Prep Trailblazers at 7:30 p.m. Vanguard Academy Beethoven has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Vanguard Academy Beethoven turned things around against IDEA College Prep on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 61-35 margin over the Griffins.

Vanguard Academy Beethoven's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erik Cantu, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 17 points and three steals. That's the most steals Cantu has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendrick Velasquez, who posted 11 points in addition to six assists and six steals.

Meanwhile, IDEA Quest College Prep entered their game against Monte Alto on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. IDEA Quest College Prep opened the new year with a less-than-successful 68-61 defeat to Monte Alto.

Vanguard Academy Beethoven pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for IDEA Quest College Prep, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-6.

Vanguard Academy Beethoven ended up a good deal behind IDEA Quest College Prep in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, losing 58-42. Can Vanguard Academy Beethoven avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
