Here's my annual take on Ohio's top prep girls basketball players from this season regardless of division and district size. Enjoy, argue, debate, celebrate. The following names will decorate hallway walls and trophy cases forever...congrats ladies.

* Kierstan Bell, McKinley (Canton), senior, G (Ohio State)
Consensus Top 10 prospect nationally, McDonald’s All-American and three-time Ohio Ms. Basketball winner has signed with Ohio State. Four-time first team OPSWA All-Ohioan averages 28.8 points, eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and four blocks.

* Zia Cooke, Rogers (Toledo), senior, PG (South Carolina)
Consensus Top 10 prospect nationally, McDonald’s All-American, South Carolina signee and member of USA U17 National Team owns over 2,000 career points. Averages 22.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.6 steals. Ms. Basketball finalist.

* Jordan Horston, Africentric Early College (Columbus), senior, G (Tennessee)
Consensus Top 10 prospect nationally, McDonald’s All-American and Tennessee signee averages 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Named MVP of the 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup this past summer after leading the United States to the gold medal. OPSWA D-III Ohio POY and Ms. Basketball finalist.

* Sammie Puisis, Mason, senior, W (Florida State)
Five-star prospect, McDonald’s All-American, Florida State recruit and three-time Greater Miami Conference Player of the Year. Averaged 17.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.3 assists. Ms. Basketball finalist.

* Jacy Sheldon, Dublin Coffman, senior, G (Ohio State)
Five-star prospect is a top 50 recruit nationally and headed to Ohio State. Averaged 26.1 points as a junior and 28.3 this season. Also averaged 7.1 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 5.1 steals. A 2,000-career point scorer. Two-time first team OPSWA D-I All-Ohio. Ms. Basketball finalist.

* Madelyn Westbeld, Fairmont (Kettering), junior, F
Undecided recruit considered one of the country’s top 10 forward prospects in junior class. Averaged 15.9 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.9 blocks. Led the Greater Western Ohio Conference in rebounds (11.1) and blocks (2.6) as a sophomore.

* Madison Greene, Pickerington Central, senior, PG (Penn State)
Considered a Top 15 prospect nationally at her position, Penn State recruit is a two-time first team OPSWA D-I All-Ohio selection. Averages 16 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists and four steals.

* Gabbie Marshall, Mount Notre Dame (Cincinnati), senior, PG (Iowa)
Iowa recruit is a three-time OPSWA D-I All-Ohio and four-time First Team Girls Greater Catholic League selection. GGCL POY averages 13.7 points, 2.7 steals and 1.6 assists.

* Connie Chaplin, Euclid, senior, G (Eastern Michigan)
NE Lakes District POY, Ms. Basketball finalist and Eastern Michigan recruit averaged 29 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and four steals.

* Destiny Leo, North (Eastlake), junior, F
Three-time OPSWA All-Ohio selection averages 28.5 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.3 blocks. Scored a career-high 44 against Kenston.

* Maliya Perry, Pickerington Central, senior, F (Auburn)
Auburn recruit is a two-time OPSWA D-I All-Ohio selection. Averages 15 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.

* Katie Shumate, Newark, senior, G (Kent State)
Kent State recruit is considered a Top 30 prospect nationally at her position. Two-time OPSWA D-I All-Ohio selection averaged 14.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.6 steals.

* Anyssa Jones, Westerville South, junior, G (Ohio State)
Became Ohio State’s first commit in the Class of 2020. Also holds offers from Florida State, Purdue, Miami (Fla.), Michigan State and Maryland. Averaged 15.8 points en route to earning OPSWA D-I All-Ohio honors. Averaged 13.8 points as a sophomore.

* Destiny Bohanon, Wayne (Huber Heights), senior, F (Dayton)
Four-year starter is program’s all-time leader in assists and steals and ranks second in scoring. GWOC National East POY will play in Kentucky-Ohio All-Star game. FIrst team OPSWA D-I All-Ohio.

* Annie Rauch, Hilliard Darby, senior, F (Ball State)
Program’s all-time leading scorer and Ball State recruit averaged 17 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.5 blocks.

* Macy Spielman, Upper Arlington (Columbus), senior, G (Bowling Green)
 Bowling Green recruit and two-time OPSWA D-I All-Ohio selection averaged 20.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.2 steals.

* Shyanne Sellers, Aurora, sophomore, F
Daughter of former Ohio State standout and 1986 first-round NBA Draft pick Brad Sellers averaged 23 points, 9.2 rebounds, three assists and 2.5 steals. First team OPSWA D-I All-Ohio.

* Dayshanette Harris, Ursuline (Youngstown), senior, PG (Pitt)
Pitt recruit and four-time OPSWA All-Ohio selection averaged 28.3 points, seven rebounds, 5.5 steals and four assists. Averaged 26 points as a junior. Is Mahoning County’s all-time leading scorer.

* Mya Jackson, Wilmington, senior, G (Seton Hall)
Seton Hall recruit is her program’s all-time leading scorer and one of two athletes in school history to surpass 2,000-career points. Averaged 22.4 points as a junior and 25 this season. Two-time SBAAC POY.

* Jala Johnson, Notre Dame Academy (Toledo), senior, PG (Loyola-Chicago)
Northwest District and TRAC POY averaged 16.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 3.2 steals.

* Uju Ezeudu, Reynoldsburg, senior, F (Denver)
Denver recruit and OPSWA D-I All-Ohioan averaged 19.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.7 steals.

* Madison Royal-Davis, Rogers (Toledo), sophomore, G
Second team OPSWA D-II All-Ohioan as a freshman earned first team honors this season. Averages 17.9 points and 6.4 rebounds.

* Layne Ferrell, Franklin, senior, G (Akron)
Akron recruit was four-time first team All-SWBL and the league POY this season after averaging 20.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, four assists, 2.5 steals and 2.3 blocks. Two-time OPSWA D-II All-Ohio.

* Annie Roshak, Hoover (North Canton), senior, F (Ashland)
Ashland recruit bounced back from a knee injury to average 22 points as a senior and finish as the program’s third all-time leading scorer (1,377 points). Also averaged eight rebounds and 2.5 steals.

* Mikala Morris, Kenton Ridge (Springfield), senior, P (Quinnipiac)
Quinnipiac recruit is considered a Top 20 prospect nationally at her position and ended her career as the state’s all-time leading rebounder (over 1,700). Four-time First Team Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division selection averaged 27 points and 21 rebounds. Also a 2,000-point scorer.

* Peyton Scott, Lynchburg-Clay, senior, G (Miami OH)
Southeast District POY and Miami recruit is a three-time OPSWA D-III All-Ohioan who is her school’s all-time leading scorer (2,175 points). Averaged 26.4 points and 11.1 rebounds. Ms. Basketball finalist.

* Lauren Flannery, River (Hannibal), senior, G (Lake Erie)
Three-time OPSWA All-Ohioan (first team this season) and two-time Eastern District POY ends her career with 1,724 career points. Ms. Basketball finalist. Averaged 22 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals.

* Makayla Elmore, Hopewell-Loudon (Bascom), sophomore, P
Northwest District POY and two-time OPSWA D-IV All-Ohioan averaged 21.3 points, 12 rebounds and 3.7 steals. Attracting attention from Tennessee, Ohio State and others.

* Courtney Prenger, Minster, senior, F (Xavier)
Four-time All-Midwest Athletic Conference selection and two-time OPSWA D-IV All-Ohioan. Became third player in program history to reach 1,000-career points this season. 

* Rachel Murray, Waynesville, senior, G
Program’s all-time leading scorer (over 1,700 points) is also a four-time Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division Player of the Year and four-time OPSWA D-III All-Ohio selection.
