If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for West Plains. On Friday they take on Central at 7:00 PM. West Plains have bulldozed their previous seven opponents, so Central might have their hands full.
Last Friday, West Plains put the finishing touches on their 7th blowout victory of the season. They put the hurt on Waynesville with a sharp 44-13 victory. Junior Brayden Lidgard was the offensive standout of the match for West Plains, as he rushed for 259 yards and 3 touchdowns. This marked the 7th game in which Lidgard has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Central, and their match last Friday only extended their streak of losses to seven. They were given a punishing 6-48 loss at the hands of Kickapoo. Central were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-35.
West Plains's win lifted them to 7-0 while Central's defeat dropped them down to 0-7. West Plains have been dynamite on the offensive side of the ball, averaging 45 points per game. We'll see if Central can find some way to disarm them.
