The Williston Red Devils will head out on the road to square off against The Rock Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Williston is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, Williston was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-48 to Dunnellon. While losing is never fun, Williston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Dunnellon is ranked 78th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Janiyah Span, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Delecia Dallas, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 56 points the game before, The Rock were a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They fell 35-25 to The Villages Charter.
Williston's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for The Rock, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season.
Williston suffered a grim 64-38 defeat to The Rock in their previous matchup back in December of 2019. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Williston was down 51-13.
