East Valley is a perfect 10-0 against Prosser since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Red Devils will head out to take on the Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (East Valley has five straight wins, Prosser has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
East Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Toppenish on Tuesday as they made off with a 21-1 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Jaxon Byerlein and Brock Goodell dominated on the mound. Byerlein struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk), while Goodell tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Blake Gibbons was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and three doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Stone, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
East Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Prosser fell victim to Othello and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Huskies, falling 14-0.
East Valley's record is now 7-1. As for Prosser, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Prosser's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: East Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .415. It's a different story for Prosser, though, as they've only averaged .239. Will they be able to contain East Valley's hitters?
East Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Prosser in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 10-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
