Mount Miguel is 10-0 against El Cajon Valley since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mount Miguel Matadors will play host again and welcome the El Cajon Valley Braves, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Mount Miguel has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Tuesday, Mount Miguel didn't have too much trouble with Santana at home as they won 72-53. Given Mount Miguel's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 441st, while Santana is ranked 1016th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Mekhi Sydney, who scored 23 points along with four steals. Jasen Hughes was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, El Cajon Valley had to suffer through a rough 73-42 loss at the hands of Monte Vista.
Mount Miguel is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for El Cajon Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13.
