Troy is 10-0 against Greenville since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Troy Trojans will look to defend their home court against the Greenville Green Wave at 7:15 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.
Troy's 19-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 66-47 to Tippecanoe. While losing is never fun, Troy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 551st, while Tippecanoe is ranked 200th).
Meanwhile, Greenville came up short against Butler on Tuesday and fell 48-36. Greenville has struggled against Butler recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Drew Hamilton put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 12 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Liam Jasenski, who scored 11 points.
Troy bumped their record down to 4-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Greenville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
Troy took their win against Greenville in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 65-39. Will Troy repeat their success, or does Greenville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
