The Franklin Panthers fought the good fight in their overtime game against the North Henderson Knights on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. Franklin was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as North Henderson apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Franklin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Noah Brannon. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Max Mcclure, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Leading North Henderson to victory were Bryson Rowe and Noah Pierce. Rowe dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Pierce scored 20 points. Rowe hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Zion McDaniel was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Franklin's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for North Henderson, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-5.
Franklin will head out on the road to face off against Smoky Mountain at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin is facing Smoky Mountain at the right time seeing as Smoky Mountain is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for North Henderson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Henderson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Henderson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 282 points over their last four matchups.
