The Green City Gophers can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Linn County 58-24 on the road. With Green City ahead 41-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Green City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hailey Herschberger out in front who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Herschberger also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Britney Jeffries, who scored 12 points.
Green City's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-6. As for Linn County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green City will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against La Plata at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. As for Linn County, they will face off against Milan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Milan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 last Friday.
