Lanie Howe made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Lola Sprenkle was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Grace Christian Academy and Boyd-Buchanan squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Grace Christian Academy had to settle for second. They came up short against the Buccaneers, falling 15-5. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ava Malone (2027) made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Cenzie Collin (2029) was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Tipton-Rosemark Academy is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Grace Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 19-15.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Tipton-Rosemark Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .461. However, it's not like Grace Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tipton-Rosemark Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Grace Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March, winning 5-2. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
