AAA District 9 recap November 13, 2013
Station Camp was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Franklin. The Bison came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
Station Camp added to the longest winning streak in AAA District 9 this week by beating the Rebels, 24-17. The victory was the sixth in a row for Shaun Hollinsworth's team.
Tate Overstreet was a key player and the best on defense this week as Gallatin topped Lawrence County. The 6-foot-4 junior recorded 1 fumble and grabbed 1 sack.
Dorian Carter was the best running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 100 yards as Beech defeated the Wildcats. Teammate Auston Vanzant added to the ground attack by rushing for 94 yards.
Gallatin's Claly Carnes and Hacket led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Carnes has thrown for 1,637 yards this season, while Hacket has 24 catches for 521 yards. Carter from the Buccaneers leads the league in rushing with 1,539 yards.
The top two teams in AAA District 9 will face off this week when first place Station Camp takes on second place Hendersonville.
Mark Williams' team's Eric Debow needs only 97 yards against Shelbyville Central next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 179 carries Debow has accumulated 903 yard this year.
Wilson Central lost to Oakland 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
