On Thursday, Maxwell had to suffer through a rough 62-22 loss at the hands of Sandy Creek. Maxwell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-8.
Although Maxwell took the loss, they still got scores from Colt Gosnell, Jesse Reyes, and Jacob Copper.
Ethan Shaw continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sandy Creek, throwing for 241 yards and five touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown. Connor Rempe was another key contributor, picking up 96 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Maxwell has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Sandy Creek, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Maxwell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sandy Creek has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Weeping Water at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Weeping Water will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
