This season hasn't been kind to the Quitman Bulldogs, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 41-16 walloping at the hands of Bonham on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Quitman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1533rd, while Bonham is ranked 344th).
Leading Bonham to victory were Jagger Lindsey and Braeden Stewart. Lindsey scored 6 points along with 8 rebounds, while Stewart scored 12 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynlee Owens , who scored 6 points.
The last time Quitman won on the road was back last Saturday. Having now lost five straight away matchups, they've bumped their record down to 0-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.4 points per game. As for Bonham, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Quitman will be playing at home against Ford at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Bonham, they will take on Rains at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.
