Bishop O'Connell dropped down to 10-2 on Monday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Wando Warriors by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Knights have suffered since May 2, 2025.
Bishop O'Connell got a good showing from Shota Fogus, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Fogus gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Bishop O'Connell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daggu Rana, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Lucas Grubb was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
As for Wando, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.
On Wando's side, Caden Beaudin looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Beaudin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jake DiMartino, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sam Bloomer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
Bishop O'Connell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 win against Georgetown on the 7th. As for Wando, they have also already played their next matchup, a 6-4 loss against Carmel Christian on the 8th.
