The Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 82-44 loss at the hands of Mulberry Grove. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.
Despite the loss, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City still got an impressive performance from Clayton Wojcik, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Evans, who scored seven points.
Mulberry Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carter Scoggins, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scoggins has scored all season. Landon Sugg was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Mulberry Grove, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City will take on the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Altamont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for Mulberry Grove, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
