After flying high against the Abundant Life Christian Academy KNIGHTS on Thursday, the Sheets Memorial Christian Eagles came back down to earth. Sheets Memorial Christian ended up on the wrong side of a tough 37-14 walloping at the hands of Asheboro Hybrid Academy on Friday. Sheets Memorial Christian was down 32-9 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Kayla Burch was Sheets Memorial Christian's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Among those leading the charge was Emily West, who scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Asheboro Hybrid Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Voncannon, who scored eight points.
Sheets Memorial Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season.
