It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Scotland County Tigers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They managed a 65-61 victory over Westran. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Westran lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Trent Brandow, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Marshall Kitchen was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Scotland County now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Westran, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.
Scotland County will be playing in front of their home fans against North Shelby at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westran, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-49 loss vs. Harrisburg on the 9th.
