The biggest upset of the week belonged to Putnam Valley, who took down 253rd ranked Edgemont, 44-30. Mike Walsh threw for 34 yards, ran for 140 yards and caught one passes for 25 yards in the win.
Alex Bronzo of the Tigers ran for the longest rushing play in Section 1 B this season against the Panthers last week. Bronzo scampered for 59 yards on the play and finished with 172 on the day as his team beat Edgemont.
Ardsley's dynamic duo of Carlos Monserrate and Gabe Kardish proved tough for Irvington to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Monserrate threw for 141 yards and two touchdowns and Kardish had 58 yards receiving. George Difiore helped Ardsley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 41 yards.
Ardsley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Monserrate has thrown for 581 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Kardish has 15 catches for 358 yards. Difiore leads the league in rushing with 338 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Pleasantville takes on Brian Connolly's team. At the moment, the Panthers are in second, while the Panthers are in third.
Westlake was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to fifth in Section 1 B. The Wildcats vanquished Kennedy Catholic 43-0 earlier in the week.
