The Harrison Raiders suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Anderson by a score of 54-52. Harrison has not had much luck with Anderson recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Malachi King and Kasen Newton certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. King dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Newton scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Newton scored 15 or more points. Carson Cain was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Harrison's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-8. As for Anderson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Harrison won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Merrillville at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. Merrillville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 contests -- so hopefully Harrison likes a good challenge. Anderson won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tippecanoe Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. Tippecanoe Valley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.7 points per game.
