The Needville Bluejays will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Navasota Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. Needville will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
You can't lose the matchup if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Needville's strategy against Bellville on Tuesday. Needville took down Bellville 50-32. Given Needville's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Bellville is ranked 1041st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Needville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keilan Sweeny, who scored eight points along with six assists and five steals. Sweeny hasn't dropped below three steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bohdan Zeitz, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Navasota's game on Friday was all tied up 26-26 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They secured a 60-54 W over Bellville. The win made it back-to-back wins for Navasota.
Needville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. As for Navasota, their victory bumped their record up to 15-11.
