The Jordan Falcons will face off against the Leesville Road Pride at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Jordan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Leesville Road will be up against a hot Jordan squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Jordan came out on top against Durham Academy by a score of 12-7 on Thursday.
Cam Daniels was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. Nate Moeller was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Leesville Road came up short against Heritage on Friday and fell 9-4. That's two games in a row now that the Pride have lost by exactly five runs.
Leesville Road also got a good showing from Avery Morton, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Leesville Road saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Fields, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another was Carter Hepp, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Jordan pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Leesville Road, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Jordan's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. Jordan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Leesville Road, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Jordan continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Jordan's way against Leesville Road in their previous meeting back in May of 2018, as Jordan made off with a 13-3 win. Will Jordan repeat their success, or does Leesville Road have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
