Hanover and Deep Run are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Hanover Hawks will be playing at home against the Deep Run Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Hanover suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 70-47 loss to Highland Springs might stick with them for a while.
Deep Run suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Glen Allen by a score of 52-50.
Despite their defeat, Deep Run saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Quentin Morgan, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and eight blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Morgan hasn't dropped below two blocks for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Steven Nerheim, who scored 15 points.
Hanover's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6. As for Deep Run, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
Hanover strolled past Deep Run in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 64-47. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Deep Run's Jayson Morgan, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Monday, will it be that much easier for Hanover to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
