Jackson Cobb made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Stallings, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
John Marshall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Everything went J.R. Tucker's way against John Marshall in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as J.R. Tucker made off with a 20-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
