Volleyball Recap: Field's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Field won the last time they faced Ravenna and things went their way on Thursday too. The Falcons put the hurt on the Ravens with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won three matchups in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Field was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-14, 25-13.

Mollie Mathews paced Field's offense, picking up 14 kills. Mathews got some help from Morgan Stoicoi and her 12 assists. Stoicoi was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Despite the loss, Ravenna still got an impressive performance from Kasey Sterba, who had nine digs and one assist. Charleigh Wegner also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Field's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Ravenna, they dropped their record down to 1-21 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight at home.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Field and Beaumont School will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ravenna, they will square off against Firelands at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
