The Logan County Cougars lost against the Franklin-Simpson Wildcats two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Logan County had to suffer through a rough 49-14 loss at the hands of Franklin-Simpson. Logan County has not had much luck with Franklin-Simpson recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Leading Franklin-Simpson to victory were Lyniah Brown and Reesha Cawthorn. Brown scored 13 points along with five steals, while Cawthorn scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Cawthorn hasn't dropped below 16 points for 14 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kloie Smith, who scored six points along with two steals.
Logan County has not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season. As for Franklin-Simpson, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-1.
Logan County will head out on the road to take on Hopkinsville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Logan County is coming into the matchup with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Hopkinsville will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Franklin-Simpson, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-42 victory vs. Greenwood on the 10th.
