Softball Recap: Chesnee Takes Down Central in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Chesnee walked away with it. Everything went their way against Central on Wednesday as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for Chesnee, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Chesnee is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Central, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Chesnee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central, they are taking a road trip to face off against Chester at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cyclones' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
