The Goodwell Eagles lost against the Elkhart Wildcats back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Goodwell took a hard 33-17 fall against Elkhart. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Goodwell in their matchups with Elkhart: they've now lost three in a row.
Bella Brillhart was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with three steals for Elkhart. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for Brillhart. Camila Garcia was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Goodwell bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.5 points per game. As for Elkhart, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Goodwell will head out on the road to face off against Buffalo at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elkhart will be home for the holidays to greet Syracuse at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
