St. Pauls scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 74-63 to the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-39 back in December of 2024.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Devin Suggs, who posted ten points. Antonio Arnold was another key player, putting up ten points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fairmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier Johnson, who had 22 points and five rebounds. The contest was Johnson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Billings, who dropped a triple-double on ten points, 14 boards, and 15 blocks.

St. Pauls' defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Fairmont, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

St. Pauls didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 82-71 loss against Lakewood on the 18th. As for Fairmont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-28 defeat against Whiteville on the 18th.
