Curtis is 1-9 against Puyallup since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Curtis will look to defend their home field against Puyallup at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Curtis 3.2, Puyallup 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
While Curtis' win against Graham-Kapowsin wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Eagles 6-5.
Brian Harris looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Micah Houston, who went 3-for-6 with one triple and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradley Dinelt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Curtis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.
Meanwhile, Puyallup strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against Sumner by a score of 10-5. Puyallup's win was all the more impressive since the Spartans were averaging only 3.08 runs allowed on the season.
Madden Pike made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 9.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Pike was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Gage Thompson and Noah Benedict did most of the damage at the plate: Thompson went 2-for-7 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Benedict scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in six of his seven plate appearances. Keagan Soliza was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his seven plate appearances.
Puyallup pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Curtis, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Curtis has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Puyallup struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Curtis came out on top in a nail-biter against Puyallup in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will Curtis repeat their success, or does Puyallup has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
