Red Cloud and Pawnee City are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2020, but not for long. The Warriors will face off against the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Red Cloud is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Red Cloud's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 58-0 win over Dorchester. Considering the Warriors have won six games by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Red Cloud didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kj Daehling and Mason Bolin. Bolin is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Red Cloud, adding 17 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Connor Rust, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Pawnee City unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 58-48 to Diller-Odell. While the Indians had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Griffin 20-16.
Despite the defeat, Pawnee City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Payton Rose rushed for 162 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 48 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Pawnee City's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Red Cloud, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Red Cloud has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 212 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pawnee City struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 274 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Red Cloud was dealt a bruising 44-8 defeat at the hands of Pawnee City when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Warriors were down 36-8.
