Evan Holcombe was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 43 points and 11 rebounds for Horizon Christian Academy. Those 43 points set a new season-high mark for Holcombe. Another player making a difference was Hunter Beenken, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds.
Academe of the Oaks bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.7 points per game. As for Horizon Christian Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-8.
Academe of the Oaks will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Providence Classical Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. As for Horizon Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against HALO at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. HALO is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
