Frederick Gunn is 0-8 against Salisbury School since April of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Highlanders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Crimson Knights at 2:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Frederick Gunn is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Berkshire School get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Frederick Gunn got a great performance from Trey LaMay as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts LaMay has posted since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Travis Lapinsky, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Bailey, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Frederick Gunn hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berkshire School struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, Salisbury School waltzed into their game on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Titans as they made off with a 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Crimson Knights, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Blake Taylor looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Nasir Stevenson and Michael Fiatarone did most of the damage at the plate: Stevenson went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Fiatarone got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That triple marked the first that Stevenson has hit this season. Kaleb Traylor was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Salisbury School pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Frederick Gunn, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-10.
Frederick Gunn came up short against Salisbury School when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 4-1. Can the Highlanders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
