Basketball Game Preview: Dighton Hornets vs. Greeley County Jackrabbits

The Dighton Hornets are taking a road trip to face off against the Greeley County Jackrabbits on Friday. Dighton will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Dighton is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Otis-Bison: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Dighton blew Otis-Bison out of the water with a 47-18 final score. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 26 points or more this season.

Dighton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Daniel Cramer out in front who went 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points and eight steals. That's the most steals Cramer has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Roemer, who posted eight points along with 14 boards and five assists.

Dighton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Greeley County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 53-48 to Cheyenne Wells. The game marked the Jackrabbits' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Dighton pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Greeley County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Everything came up roses for Dighton against Greeley County in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 78-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dighton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
