Toby Juarez looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Yerington got a massive performance out of Ruben Jimenez, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Jimenez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Valor Angle, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
Yerington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Incline couldn't beat Sierra Lutheran on Thursday even though they stacked seven runs on them in the first inning. The Highlanders fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 13-11. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Tate Gitchell and Alex Briggs did some serious damage despite the final result: Gitchell earned one RBI, three runs, and two stolen bases, while Briggs went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Gitchell has become a key player for Incline: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-11 otherwise. Andrew Bodel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Yerington's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Incline, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
Incline's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Yerington hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314.
