Bassfield (Miss.) defeat Taylorsville (Miss.) 51-14 after a solid game from
Trodrick Daniels, who rushed for four touchdowns. The scores gave the junior 23 touchdowns for the year.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Daniels in the first quarter, the Yellowjackets were up 31-6 at the half.
Bassfield grew its lead to 29 points entering the fourth quarter. BHS scored two times in the third, including once on an
Alvin Moore touchdown run.
The loss snapped Taylorsville's seven-game winning streak.
The Yellowjackets went into the matchup giving up only 10.4 points per game. Taylorsville's 14 points were well below their season average of 33.1 per game. Taylorsville came in surrendering 9.8 points per game this season. THS had a hard time against Bassfield's offense, which entered the game scoring 43.2 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Taylorsville, who notched a 35-6 victory over Scott Central in its previous outing.
