The Leake Central Gators scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Scott Central with a sharp 69-44 win. The victory was just what Leake Central needed coming off of a 85-40 defeat in their prior matchup.
Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Azaeliyah Lyles, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Lyles has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mariah Bulter, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Leake Central has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Scott Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-12.
Leake Central will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Choctaw Central is coming into the match hot, having won their last 13 games. Scott Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
