The Evansville North Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Bloomington South Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Evansville North comes in on three and Bloomington South on seven.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Evansville North walked away with it. They walked away with a 60-50 win over Castle on Friday. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but Evansville North was the better team in the second half.
Jason Rucker ii went supernova for Evansville North, rushing for 293 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. Rucker ii's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Another player making a difference was Sam Mckinney, who rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Bloomington South can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Seymour 49-14 on the road. Given Bloomington South's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Seymour is ranked 87th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Evansville North is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Bloomington South, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Evansville North was taken down by Bloomington South 49-21 when the teams last played back in November of 2019. Thankfully for Evansville North, Maveric Thiery (who rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
