Lamar put the finishing touches on their 14th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 58-31 victory over Central Arkansas Christian on the road. Given Lamar's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Central Arkansas Christian is ranked 207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Mayflower didn't have too much trouble with Perryville at home on Tuesday as they won 55-40.
Lamar's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Mayflower, their victory bumped their record up to 19-4.
Lamar didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Mayflower in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 70-66 victory. Will Lamar repeat their success, or does Mayflower have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
